9/27/97 Grand Junction, CO. A cross located on Patterson Raod and 29 Road marks the spot where Palisade teenager James Clark died after a bike/car accident last Wendesday. Clarks uncle, Matt Gates, accompanied by daughters Jamy, Kristen and Moriah and brother Jesse place flowers and momentos. James was struck by a car as he crossed Patterson Road heading south on 29 Road against a red light. James was pronounced dead at St Mary's Hospital at 9pm 30 minutes after the accident. 3-23-97 Grand Junction, CO. Hale-Bopp heads into Utah. Comet Hale-Bopp streaks through the night sky into Utah this week at the Colorado/Utah line on the old U.S. Highway 50. The moon illuminated the signpost and the bookcliffs in the background of this picture. The photo was taken with a Nikon F4 camera, a 35mm f2.8 lens for 20-second exposure time.
